Bio
A Full Professor at the Technical School of Computer Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), she leads the MIDAS research group, a leading team in data mining and intelligent data analytics. Her research focuses on data science applied to healthcare, and she has led initiatives within major European programmes, including H2020, FP7, and EIT. She has authored more than 40 papers in high-impact journals, serves as a scientific journal editor and research evaluator, and co-leads the Digital Skills Working Group of the European BDVA-DAIRO association.

Full Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), his research focuses on vehicular and ad hoc networks, UAVs, smart cities, the Internet of Things, network protocols, video streaming, and cybersecurity. He has authored more than 600 scientific publications, serves on the editorial boards of leading international journals, and is Editor-in-Chief of the Drones section at MDPI. Recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists, he is also a Senior Member of IEEE and an active leader in international research communities.

Associate Professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), Brazil, where she leads the USES (UX and Software Engineering) Research Group. Her research focuses on user experience, human factors in software development, software quality, and empirical software engineering. She has authored more than 300 publications, serves on the editorial boards of leading software engineering journals, and became the first Latin American recipient of the IEEE TCSE Distinguished Education Award in 2023.

The component we do not factor in: How human behavior and judgment shape everyday decisions, practices, and collaboration in software teams
Software projects are shaped not only by technology, but also by the people who design, develop, and manage them. This keynote explores how Behavioral Software Engineering helps explain the influence of human behavior, judgment, heuristics, and biases on decision-making, collaboration, and coordination within software teams. It examines why purely technical approaches often fail to address persistent project challenges and argues for adopting a more human-centered perspective. By embracing behavioral insights, software engineering can improve development practices, support better decisions, and foster more effective, collaborative, and successful software teams.

Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at the University of Salamanca (Spain). He leads the GRIAL Research Group (Research Group on Interaction and eLearning), recognized as a Consolidated Research Unit. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the University Institute of Educational Sciences (IUCE) and Coordinator of the Ph.D. Programme in Education in the Knowledge Society. He is Editor-in-Chief of Education in the Knowledge Society and Associate Editor of several international journals. Included in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list since 2019, he has supervised 36 Ph.D. dissertations and published more than 150 JCR-indexed research articles.

Designing Hybrid Learning: Intelligent Interfaces and New Educational Ecosystems
Hybrid education has evolved beyond the simple combination of face-to-face and online learning. This keynote proposes understanding it as an ecosystem that integrates in-person interaction, online learning, artificial intelligence, data, and responsibility in the design of educational experiences. Within this framework, hybrid intelligence is presented as the ability to combine the strengths of human and artificial intelligence to address complex challenges and achieve outcomes that neither could accomplish independently. The talk will explore how the interaction and coevolution of people and technology are reshaping teaching and learning processes, enabling AI to take over repetitive tasks while educators and learners focus on creativity, critical thinking, strategy, and informed decision-making.
